How to reach the Conference Venue
The conference venue is at walking distance from the city center: 15 min from Piazza dei Miracoli (leaning tower), 12 min from Ponte di Mezzo (main bridge), 8 min from Piazza dei Cavalieri (Scuola Normale).
The venue is well served by urban buses LAM verde (green line), number 4 and line E, all of which go through the city center; LAM verde and line 4 reach the train station. The urban bus service is operated by the CPT (Pisa Transport Consortium). Please refer to the bus map.
See detailed instructions on how to reach the conference venue and the lecture hall.
How to reach Pisa
By plane
Pisa has an international airport, Aeroporto Galileo Galilei (PSA), with daily flights to and from many national and international destinations; more than 50 airports are currently connected to the airport of Pisa via low-cost flights by carriers such as RyanAir (which has direct flights between Pisa and Barcelona, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hamburg, London, Madrid, Munich, Oslo, and Stockholm, among others) and easyJet (which has direct flights between Pisa and Berlin, London, and Paris, among others). The timetable of incoming and outgoing flights is available at the above website. To reach the Congress Center it is probably most convenient to take a taxi. Alternatively, you can take Pisa Mover shuttle to reach the train station and take an urban bus (see below).
By train
The railway station is located on the main railway line from Roma to Torino. There is also a very frequent train service to and from Firenze. On the Trenitalia website you may find a train schedule and ticket booking service. To reach the Congress Center you can take bus “LAM verde” (green line) or number 4, or take a taxi.
By car
Pisa is near the intersection of two toll highways, A12 “Autostrada Azzurra” (Genova – Livorno) and A11 “Autostrada Firenze-Mare” (Pisa – Firenze). Pisa is also served by the (toll-free) motorway “Strada di Grande Comunicazione Firenze-Pisa-Livorno”. There are two parking lots located near the conference venue, see instructions.
